Vukic’s World Cup Chances in Jeopardy after Broken Heel

February 5th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | 1 Comment »

Disappointing news for Serbia and Montenegro fans. Zvonimir Vukic broke his heel today in a friendly match between his club side Partizan and Russian 2nd League club Ural. Vukic was immediately taken to the hospital where his leg was put into a plaster cast. It is estimated that Vukic might be out of action for up to three months, greatly diminishing his chances of being fit and part of the World Cup squad.

Vuckic only joined Partizan earlier this week after transfering from Portsmouth in a move he made to gain playing time to improve his chances for the World Cup.

Please explain how much he will be missed, if he don’t go. I don’t know him very much.
