Petkovic - whose nickname in Brazil is The Pet - says that he liked to earn a spot on the team based on his play and not on injuries.

Based on his performance in Brazil it would be hard to disagree. He has shown he can score goals at the club level. It would seem like now would be the perfect time for him to get a chance to see if he has what it takes to play in international competition.
