Serbia and Montenegro is Better than the Netherlands

I don’t know what it is about the Dutch that makes them losers, but they just are. Sure, they play really pretty football and they have all these famous players, but they have never won the World Cup. Although I have feeling the Dutch will progress with Serbia and Montenegro out of Group C, they won’t beat Serbia and Montenegro. They won’t, because they just aren’t good enough.

Maybe it is the fact that the Dutch live so far below sea level, or because they love flowers so much, or because they can’t ever have enough prostitutes and drugs. Maybe it is because Heineken sales have dropped in America. I don’t know, but whatever it is, they’re not going to beat Serbia and Montenegro.

Seriously, who the hell thinks they can score against the Plavi’s backline awesome foursome? Nistelhooy is going to drown himself in the Reijn after the Serbia and Montenegro game. McKay will be made to look like a little boy. Dook Koot will be so embarassed that he’ll shoot himself afterwards. They all will actually.

The Netherlands, I think you’re better than Argentina and Cote d’Ivoire (barely), but because you’re playing so close to home you’ll find a way to finish second in Group C. You’re going to lose to Serbia and Montenegro though.

Plavi! Plavi! Plavi!

I wouldnt say that S&M is better than Netherlands. Neither they are better than Cote d’Ivoire and Argentina. It all depends on the form of the day and the coaches tactics in this group. Predictions are usually made about netherlands and Argebtina going through, as they have more top players in top clubs. But when it comes to team spirit and tactical cleverness S&M has an adavantage to all other teams. Netherlands and Argentina both have terrific and top quality players and so does Cote d’Ivoire, but that doesnt mean anything.

arno,

i respect the netherlands. i’m just talking smack. all the teams in group c are great. everything probably thinks SM is the worst of the bunch. woopty do. half the fun of the world cup is joshing with your opponents about how bad they are.

that said… blue and red are better colors than oranje.

@lyle & arno…I agree with Lyle. Half the fun about world cup is talking smack to your buddies who root for some other team. And I’ll even agree that blue and red ARE better colors than orange…..

But I’m thinking, and some might call me crazy…..that Argentina being in this group will have something to say about this conversation and not being included to advance to the next round. My money says Argentina and Netherlands…Hup Hup.

[...] My colleague in charge of the Serbia and Montenegro team has made a few disparaging comments about my beloved Oranje. I’m not quite sure how to respond to them. I won’t lower myself and will therefore reject name calling and instead look towards the facts. The Dutch qualified with a goal difference of +24. I don’t care what defense you have, that’s awfully good. The “plavi” had a difference of +15. While the Dutch played two more games they still won 10 out of the twelve, their second tie being inconsequential after beating the Czechs to qualify well before their last game.. Serbia and Montenegro merely won 6 out of their ten while drawing four. The Dutch allowed only3 goals despite sharing a group with the qualifiers’ top scoring team. The Netherlands rank 6th, while their supposed “betters” lie a distant 22, one place behind Latvia. [...]

Enough talking aobut Croatia, Cote d’Ivoire i predict will go on, who else will be 2nd or 1st is up in the air. if Greece could have won the Euro 02 by just busting working hard and being tacticall then everything else is up in the air, and predicting who will qualify in this tight group is like tying to find a needle in a hay stack

Crno and aka,

Lets not spark another Balkans War here. Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro are both great countries with wonderful people.

Lets all love one another… although feel free to jokingly put down one another’s football sides. Although I understand this might be difficult since the war happened just a few years ago, but the world wants you guys to move upwards and onwards.

Others,

Argentina will have a lot to say. They’re good; probably top 3 in the world. So what? They didn’t qualify last time out of their group. They’re not playing in South America. They will be playing in Germany where a lot of Serbs and Montenegrans live. And they lost to Croatia in a friendly recently… and we all know Serbia and Montenegro is better than Croatia :) (seriously, they’re about the same, but come on, I have to be a homer when it comes to Serbia and Montenegro).

I think SM will make it out of the group stages. Ivory Coast are not that strong as everyone thinks they are.

Serbia-Montenegro is a great squad. But…they always get spanked by the orangemen. Holland will go through, S&M might…

babaloo,

You’re right about Serbia and Montenegro being a great squad and you’re correct in saying that is likely that Serbia and Montenegro will go through. You’re wrong to think though that a young version of Clockwork Oranje will somehow spank the fortress football the Plavi play.

You guys are going to kick and kick and kick the ball towards the goal until you’re tired.. and when you slow down, we’re going to come out of the fortress and assault you with Kezman and company. It worked against Spain and it will work against the Dutch.

Plavi! Plavi! Plavi!

It’s going to be a great fight. Best of luck.

If u r thinking about Kovacevic,i think not….
Coach has the wining team, and he doesn’t wanna change it. Petkovic is right about that. Don’t change the wining team. But Darko is a good player
