So I read Serbia & Montenegro just went their separate ways forming two independent nations. How does this work for the WorldCup? Will they go with the flag and anthem they used to have before the split? If only one nation “inherits” the team, can they still play with players from the other nation?
I remember the former Soviet Republics marching together in the inauguration of the Olympics after their split, carrying many flags side by side instead of just one.
Best wishes to the team during the Worldcup and to Serbia & Montenegro in their future.
Peace.

m navarro,

it’s as if they didn’t split. they may even stay together as a team through EURO 2008.

bradilo,
Thanks for your comment about us.
Yes, I’m Mexican. Let’s hope we don’t have to eliminate each other in the next round since the best two fom our group will play against the best two from your group. One of my best friends from my years in the USA is Serbian and I did meet other Serbians and you guys are swell! I’ll also be rooting for you, as long as you don’t face us!
