Petkovic Set to Rejoin S&M

Reports from Belgrade say that midfielder Dejan Petkovic will be on the roster for Serbia and Montengro as it prepares for the World Cup.

Petkovic, a 33 year old midfielder, has been playing in Brazil where he was named the top playmaker in the league in 2005.

Petkovic has also logged time at Real Madrid and Crvena Zvezda Beograd during his long career. Despite his age and perhaps a lost step or two, he is still a dangerous playmaker who is strong on the ball. I’ve always enjoyed watching him play and will be interested to see whether he gets one last chance at playing in the World Cup under coach Ilija Petkovic.
