No big stars in this team except perhaps Stankovic, but some unpredicatble newcommers like Zigic and Vucinic and a VERY experienced defensive line with Krstajic, Dragutinovic (UEFA Cup winner with Sevilla), gavrancic and Jevric. Additionaldefensive strength is added by Igor Duljaj , who won the Ukranian championship with Shakhtar. Djordjevic adds experience in the midfield., he played a great season this year for Olympiacos scoring 15 goals and winning the double crown. Ilic won the Turkish championship with amazing 12 goals scored. Stankovic had a great season for inter as well. Only kezman disappointed somehow. Must be backed by Zigic, who again was a key player in zvezda’s double crown season this year.

Overall some very succesfull players in the squad, who will come full with confidence to Germany, representing some very fine East European and Balkan clubs and football skills.

Rogi> I know there are many Croats in Berlin so if Croatia makes it to the final it will be like they are playing at home. Will it be the same for SCG? Is there alot of you guys there?

Yeah well it might not be that glim for S&M, they did finish ahead of spain and easily if i might add, and spain is a favorite and not that much wors then the duch or argentina. BTW it would be nice iF Serbia play with Croatia in the finals. the game would be suspended 15 min in to the mach. ahhhahaha

If SCG can match the performance they did in the qualifiers with the same amount of heart and team spirit I see them passing group stage, and into the quarter-finals. They’re more then able to upset any team if they can emmulate their qualifying performance. I think Petkovic’s only problem will be when to use zigic/vucinic/ljuboja/milosevic and who to use as offensive midfielder vukic/djordjevic/ilic. WOW what a performance Ilic had with Gala, 12 goals and he didn’t even play the whole season!

What’s up with the quote under the roster? Nothing will stop them from what exactly? Possibly nothing will stop them from exiting the tournament after 3!
Vatreni will shock the world June 13!

karlo,

nothing will stop us from going far in the tournament if we get pass the group stage. it’s in the article.

marko,

i’m sure the games will be on some canadian tv. are go to a soccer watching bar filled with Europeans watching the games. i’d be surprised if canadian tv wasn’t showing all the games.
